Summary
She ran.
Bare feet slapping the cold stone floor of the old Shinsengumi prison ruins, breath ragged, heart pounding like war drums in her chest.
The iron collar still dug into her neck. She’d ripped the chain out of the wall. That should’ve bought her time. It didn’t.
Behind her, she heard the slow, deliberate echo of boots. He wasn’t chasing. He was hunting.
“Run faster, China,” Okita’s voice purred from the dark. “I love it when you try.”
She didn’t stop. Not until the walls closed in around her. A dead end.
She spun around, fists up, blue eyes fierce—but the predator was already there, stepping from the shadows like he belonged to them.
“So stubborn,” he murmured, brushing a gloved thumb across her cheek. “Still fighting me after all this time.”
“I’m not yours,” she hissed.
But he only smiled.
“That’s the best part.”
Then his mouth was on hers—rough, claiming, devouring like he was starving. Like she was the only thing that had ever fed him right. And even as she clawed at him, she kissed him back.
Because deep down… she wanted the monster.

Summary
“Take responsibility? You think I’m going to play house with you because of some consequence of our... night together?”
Sougo stepped closer, anger evident in his eyes. “I’ve got no intention of playing the part of a father or husband. This was never part of my plan.”
Kagura’s heart sank. “So, you’re just going to abandon us? After everything?”
