Summary
He watched as the skies above Amourot began to burn.
He watched the skies after Hythlodaeus walked away from him, begging for her return to stop their mutual love’s self sacrifice.
He watched, tears streaming down his face, as the final magics were woven.
He watched the skies, searching for her, even as Zodiark’s will wrapped around his heart, and drowned out all else.

Summary
He came, twisting out of the shadows like a snake out of a burrow long since ignored. She should have known, it should have occurred to her that he would corner her when she was as alone as she could be, staring out at the night sky as if it would provide relief for the low heat settled in her belly. That he would come to claim her when her guard was down the most, when she was at her most vulnerable.
After all, insult was not a color Emet-Selch wore well.

Summary
“I, for one,” Hythlodaeus said, lifting an observational finger, “wouldn’t mind a little more life, with mine being so prematurely cut short.”
Emet-Selch’s peaceful expression soured. “You can’t be serious,” he said with a huffy cross of his arms.
“The star shall surely be saved, and I owe absolutely nothing more to Zodiark.” Hythlodaeus said, his smile the practiced placating curve that D’fhiri had grown so familiar with in Elpis. “And while you have had many lifetimes to explore, I would like my own chance to see the world our dear friend loves so much.”
Post-Endwalker Fix-It, in which Hades and Hythlodaeus choose to stay.
When the Warrior of Light, D'fhiri Jinh, convinces the two men bound to her soul to linger with her in the world of the living for a little while longer, her joy is palpable to those she loves. Her established partner, G'raha, is suspicious and protective, while Emet-Selch and Hythlodaeus explore how they might fit in to her life in a more practical way. What does it mean to suffer to live, and to choose a beginning rather than an end, all for the sake of love long lost and rediscovered anew?
