Goro doesn’t even get a chance to complain before Kurusu is sliding an arm around his back and beneath his knees. He’s immediately greeted by a wave of pain that outclasses all the others before, a kind of pain that makes him feel as if his entire body is breaking in two. Makes him think: fuck, maybe it actually is.
He grits his teeth. “Joker, stop.”
Kurusu instantly freezes, meeting his eyes with clear alarm.
“What’s wrong?”
“I think my hip might be broken.”

Summary
Goro stands there, politely looking away as Akira coughs and heaves into the toilet. Despite the circumstances, Goro doesn’t find himself disgusted by the sight in front of him, and instead he’s hit with a wave of restless energy. Consumed by the need to do something and yet infuriatingly unable to do anything. His hands clench into fists so tight he can feel the imprint of his nails in the flesh of his palm.
It’s only when it finally seems as if Akira’s finished for the moment, clutching at the rim and trying to catch his breath, that Goro finally speaks.
“Why do you insist on acting like everything is fine when you’re clearly not feeling well?”

A heavy read, it makes you feel awful at times due to the topics being addressed. However, it’s very worthwhile and enjoyable, with bits of comedy to fight against the sins crawling through Akechi’s back. The way Akira and Akechi are written is masterful. Very complex and flawed, if that makes sense. I felt like Akira really represented the song “Beneath the mask”, as his game counterpart does.

Robin’s eyebrows shoot up, and she leans forward, hand on her chin. “How long have they been together?” she repeats, smiling like she knows more than she lets on. “What an interesting question.”
Brook has the wrong idea about Zoro and Sanji’s relationship and, somehow, no one ever corrects him.

—“If there’s a start date, then there’s an end,” Luffy frowns. “And Zoro isn’t allowed to leave me until he dies, and I won’t let him do that. So there is no start or end, so no anniversary!”
— “I know Zoro loves me,” Luffy mutters. Curls of white smoke are blowing away from his body. “I know it, always. But it’s different hearing you say it. It’s like—how you know that meat tastes good, but actually getting to eat it is way different!”“Don’t compare me to food,” Zoro groans.
“Zoro is more delicious than any food,” says Luffy, lifting his head, and Zoro realizes his eyes aren’t red anymore, back to the piercing black Zoro is far more familiar with. His hair is turning back to black, too. Zoro grabs his chin, and kisses him again, with more tenderness than before, now that Luffy’s stopped moving a million miles a minute.
“You’re weird,” he says, when he pulls away.
“You like it,” Luffy replies. “You love it.” He giggles, a delightful noise that Zoro wants to keep in his chest forever. “Zoro loves me.”
