Summary
Greg had seen a lot in his twenty years on the force. Quite aside from his own personal list of injuries; being shot, stabbed, his broken bones. He’d seen fellow officers downed, mass shootings, his fair share of explosions. Strange things, too. Once Sherlock had shown up in his life.
But nothing would ever compare with seeing Mycroft half buried under the debris from an explosion designed to kill him and not knowing whether he was dead or alive.

Sherlock turns up where he has been asked not to, and finds Mycroft less perfectly assembled than the evening he planned. Lestrade is there. Both come to Mycroft's aid when he finally (and inevitably) unravels.

Lestrade did not see the signs in Mycroft, but he recognised Sherlock’s stillness.
“Sherlock, what is it?” Lestrade approached, drawn in by Sherlock’s manner.
“I’m going to need your assistance in about ten seconds.” Sherlock responded flatly, giving no indication of urgency despite the timeframe.
“My assistance? ten -?” Lestrade frowned, trying to catch up. “Wait, what for?”
