    “It’s not just about me forgiving them, because there was wrongdoing on all parts, it’s about fixing something that’s been broken for a while. And to do that, the Avengers have to be in the same place at the same damn time without ripping into each other, and by that I mean neither physically nor verbally, and with the willingness to have an actual grown up discussion instead of an argument.”

    Tony did exactly what he’d set out to do, what he’d told Steve he’d do right back at the beginning. He fixed the accords.
    Then, slowly, painfully, one by one they all returned.
    Old and new, stubborn and broken, the Avengers came back together.
    All of them but one.

    Or, the one where Tony has the patience of a saint until he doesn’t, the Avengers live together but aren’t together, Bucky holds everything back until he can’t, and Steve is a stubborn jackass until… Nope, he remains as stubborn as a... Well, at least he stops being a mule. It’s a good job he’s not the only stubborn one around.

    (It’s not necessary to read the short prequel to enjoy this fic but it does provide extra insight.)

    Based off a fanvid by [@Tony Stark/Steve Rogers Diary] titled “Breakeven” on YouTube – Steve refuses to commit to Tony no matter how much Tony asks and gives of himself. Frustrated and hurt, Tony breaks up with Steve and soon after begins dating Bruce Wayne. Steve, seeing this, realizes his mistake and starts trying to win Tony back.
