Summary
Watching Steve sit alone that first day- even with his ex and her new squeeze crowding his table- former King of Hawkins High with his bruised up face and puppy dog eyes, and apparently, knight in shining armor tendencies, Eddie never stood a chance.
It's Jeff, in the end, that finally badgers Eddie enough to let Steve be dragged over to their table- into Hellfire, and Dungeons & Dragons, and hopefully right into Eddie's arms- after Steve intervenes to stop Jeff being harrassed in the halls.
Now Eddie just needs to figure out what he's going to do with all of it.
Aka a hellfire adopts Steve fic, because give the boy some friends (and a boyfriend).

‘“Hey, it’s okay, little Omega. Just try to breathe.”
Eddie’s hand landed, tentative, on Steve’s shoulder. Lying face down on the floor, Steve didn’t even try to shrug it off. Eddie squeezed him, super-gentle, and Steve’s insides were melting for sure, turning warm and gooey, which was actually kinda nice…apart from it wasn’t. Eddie couldn’t really mean those kind words… or could he? Oh God, Steve was so mixed up. Somehow, he spat out: “No, it’s not okay. Get outta the Omega restrooms, freak!”
“Now that’s just not nice.” Eddie stopped touching him. Steve heaved a sob that nearly had him retching. “Gonna cut you some slack. You want me to help you up, or are you okay down there, sniffin’ the floor.”
Or, O!Steve is desperate to keep his secondary gender a secret until he graduates High School. He’s doing okay. Until A!Eddie Munson walks into class.
