Looking at her with soft eyes like kindling embers, he was so alive. She felt it too, when his mouth grazed her temple, gentle and kind.
When she sees Chue waiting on the bench outside the clinic, unnaturally somber, she understands. Quietly, the other woman tells her the truth, which is no different from the rumors.
