March glares at him, but neither of them bring up the first time they met, and Healy had been able to tell. He knew, and March knew he knew, and for the longest five seconds of Holland’s life he’d been pinned down in his own goddamn kitchen by the first Alpha he’d had physical contact with since his wife died. Healy just breaking his arm had almost been a relief at that point.
Holland March is an Omega, and his business partner that he only has the most professional relationship with is an Alpha. Even though neither of them have mates, that is absolutely not a problem, because, again, Holland March is a consummate professional. And he doesn’t go into heat anymore. “Whoa, wait, back up.” Holland instantly sat up in his seat, grabbing hold of the arm so he could twist round to face Holly. “Klein? As in Janet Klein? Did you fucking punch Janet?!”
“Mr. March!” Principal Harrison admonished, “Language!”
Holland gave him an apologetic wince before he looked back at Holly.
“Holly,” he said, gentler, “Look at me.” He waited until Holly complied with his request. “Honey, did you punch Janet in the face?”

March gestured anxiously, waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Healy paused. “Ohhhhh. The nasty stuff. Whips and handcuffs. Girls and animals.”
“Close,” March said, grimacing. He really, really didn’t want to have to explain this. “Think more like…. Disco.”
“Disco?” Healy raised an eyebrow. “What, like the queer music? You think the back room of that store is full of porn for… For disco fans.” He nodded thoughtfully a couple of times. “And you’re an expert about this?”
For a second the whole world went white around the edges and March thought he might pass out. He was too sober for this conversation. What exactly had Healy noticed that morning, how obvious exactly had his full-body reaction to Healy’s hand on his neck been? “I was a happily married man!” March said, and as soon as it came out of his mouth he knew it was wrong. Too fast, too high-pitched, too loud.
