We cheered when Xiang Fei killed off the upper Qing Jing disciples for a grudge about SY, but why is it more horrifying when Li Wenjun orders the upper Zui Xian disciples to their deaths? And it wasn’t even about getting revenge on Xiang Fei or trying to kill him off. Is it worse that the Qing Jing disciples died senselessly, off page, or that the Zui Xian disciples had their cultivation used against them and utilized as weapons rather than people? Which is more dehumanizing? Are the Emperor or the Crown Prince or the Peak Lords worse? Does their hypocrisy and short-sightedness make them more or less sympathetic?
