Summary
Adrian finds an alien in a tree on a moon that appeared in Erid's orbit years after the launch of their first star-faring ship. Simon finds a second chance at life on Erid and spends his days gardening and doing space walks.
Years later, Rocky finds out Adrian never stopped loving him, bagged their own leaky human(?), and the head scientist in alien biology. Grace finds that the astronaut that floated past Mary's view window and speaks Eridian is real and not a malnutrition hallucination.

"What if I help you?" Grace blurts out desperately, sweating even in the coolness of his house as his words finally manage to stop Adrian from storming out.
"What?" Adrian says after a tense moment.
"I can prove it to everyone," Grace says, his heart in his throat. "I'll - I'll make you and Rocky the most celebrated couple on Erid. I promise."
"Stupid human," Adrian hisses. "You would give up your chance for him just like that?"
"Yes," Grace says hoarsely.
"Anything for him."

Adrian does not like Grace.
Which sucks, really, since Grace loves Adrian's husband and all.

Summary
Grace wakes up on a strange ship to gunfire, Adrian protecting him, and no clue was "C.O.I." means.
Simon is in the middle of losing his mind when space folds and a musical rock is suddenly taking up some of the SM-13's limited space.
Excerpt:
Grace takes a deep breath and tells the Hail Mary, "Scan for any signs of Eridian life, traces of xenonite, or radio signals. Do not report traces of Adrian or this radio signal.""Scanning for Eridian life. Inconclusive." Grace clenches his jaw, staring at the microphone like he'll hear what he wants if he doesn't blink. "Scanning for traces of xenonite. Inconclusive." Next to him, Adrian shifts, a low-tone humming emanating from them in an attempt to soothe Grace and themself. "Scanning for radio signals. One active signal found."
Relief floods through Grace, his breath rushing from him and his legs almost buckling. "Can you determine the source? Where is it?" he asks.
"The signal originates from below the surface of this moon's ocean."
"The signal is coming from within the ocean?"
"Yes, Dr. Grace."
"But that's impossible. We lost the SM-13's signal days ago," Ava says.

“Would it help––should I bring my dinner in too?” Grace jokes, smiling in preparation for the absolute symphony of disgusted whistles he knows Rocky will produce at the thought of them doing something as depraved as sharing a meal. “I’ve been saving this week’s half packet of ramen for just such an occasion––”
[YES YES YES!] Rocky’s translator app suddenly blares from the laptop on the floor between them. [YES, ACCEPT ACCEPT ACCEPT! GRACE RAMEN ♪♫♪♫ WITH ROCKY, AFFIRMATIVE! GRACE ROCKY EAT ♪♫♪♫ MEAL TOGETHER AFFIRMATIVE YES YES AFFIRMATIVE NOW.]

or, a fic to answer the questions: What if you fell in love for the first time in your 40s, and it just so happened to be with your alien best bud who has five legs, no face, and is already married? And then what if you accidentally proposed marriage to said alien best bud without knowing, because while you may be Earth's best and brightest, you are also notoriously inexperienced and kinda stupid at close interpersonal relationships? What then?
