There were certain things about Henry that Alex had failed to discover early in their relationship. He’d assumed, for example, that Henry’s occasional anxiety around sex stemmed from a fear of being caught, and that his refusal to discuss past relationships had to do with NDA’s and was mostly for Alex’s own benefit. He had asked, a few times, and Henry had gone red and started picking at the dry skin around his fingernails, laughing it off. And so Alex had stopped asking.

Alex gets the call at 7:57am.
It’s from an unknown number, so he answers it with an accent on his tongue and laughter in his throat, ready to troll the scammer for all they’re worth. But the voice on the other side of the line is serious, solemn, when she asks, “Is this, I apologize, all I’ve been given are initials, AGCD?”
He frowns, turning away from the coffee shop he’d been about to enter. “Who’s asking?”
There’s a moment of hesitation on the other end. “There’s been an incident. On the individual's phone, there’s a sticker. It says, if found, return to AGCD, alongside this phone number. Does it sound familiar?”
Alex freezes in the middle of the sidewalk. “What kind of incident?”

With just a glance (it was a glance, he swears), it’s blatantly obvious that Alex is fairly drunk, hitting on tipsy, giggling women and scarfing down various canapes. Henry can only hope he stays far, far away from him, but of course, such is his luck that things never quite go his way.
“Henry! What a delight to see you here. How’s it going, man?”
____Inspired from a comment on one of my other fics - what if Alex was the royalty and Henry was just a normal, working class guy from London (or in this case, an ex-marine).
