It feels like trying to lift enormous concrete weights with his eyelids, but Jon manages to open his eyes. For a moment all he can see is a paleish blur. He blinks a few times. His eyes are gummy. His throat is so sore. The blur finally resolves into a round face with worried blue eyes behind wire-rimmed glasses. Martin.
“Are you okay?” Martin says again.

I needed this. I was having an objectively good day, but my emotions were still being wack, so I needed some really really well written fluff and comfort. I cried so much while reading this fic in a GOOD way. It was very very well done. And Jon is far too relatable about not being willing to accept comfort and yet being the clingiest person on earth. I’ll unpack that relatable-ness when it’s not almost 2am. Speaking of, I would probably have better words to say about this fic that aren’t just “good”, but I am VERY tired. I really really needed to read something like this before bed tonight, thank you author.
