Summary
Gao Tu had never lived a carefree life. Despite being born into a noble household and despite carrying the Gao name, his life had never resembled the luxury people imagined.
When the Imperial Decree arrived, announcing that all omegas of noble lineage were to present themselves at the palace for compatibility testing with the Crown Prince, Gao Tu thought that there was no world in which he would be chosen.
A historical AU in which Gao Tu and Shen Wenlang meet, get mated, have a child, and fall in love in that order.

Gao Tu’s mind short-circuited.
“You don’t have to—” He winced sharply. “I can manage.”
Shen Wenlang huffed, arms crossing. “I can see that.” Then he huffed softly. “This is because I can’t stand seeing you in pain. Nothing else. You are my friend,” he said, voice firm but not earnest. “You don’t have to accept,” Shen Wenlang added. “It’s just an option. One time. Nothing has to change. Whatever happens here stays here.”
Shen Wenlang and Gao Tu get snowed in a luxurious cabin and are forced to stay until help arrives.
