It had him clearing his throat and forcing himself to keep his eyes from drifting away from that intense stare. “Yes, I am. Why wouldn’t I be?”
“You know there’s an infinite number of universes, some good, some bad and some that just are. There’s no rhyme or reason to it—what fate decides to allow or… ruin,” Evans rasped, his words had Draco furrowing his brows in confusion, while eyeing the dark look that settled over Evans’s face while his half-lidded gaze never left him. “I’ve come a long, long way from home, Draco. Do you know that?”
Draco survives the Sectumsempra in one universe, but in another he’s not so lucky. That makes all the difference.

Summary
Richard Starkey is a young British anthropologist and photographer tired of the London routine. One day, bored and with nothing to do, he's surprised by a notification from his supervisor assigning him a project, which he seizes upon: to photograph and study Hindu culture, meaning he'll travel to India. He enthusiastically accepts the proposal, as the research will culminate in a blog for the university where he works, offering everyone an authentic and respectful perspective on Hindu culture and traditions.
After a long and tiring journey, he arrives in India. He wanders through the streets until he reaches the banks of a vast river. Excited, he takes out his camera, intending to photograph the scene. However, a spontaneous photograph leads him to cross paths with a reserved young woman, whose reaction makes it clear she's not about to let a stranger invade her space.
