“Are you okay?” Clark asks, turning on the water and quickly leaning back. Bruce doesn’t follow, and Clark’s eyes trace the raised scars painting his back.
“Yes.”
“No?” Clark questions loudly over the running water. He lays his palm flat against his back, thumbing the edges of a scar while covering another with his pinky.
“What?” Bruce asks, shivering when Clark slides his hand around his front to haul him upright.
“You’re not okay?”
“I didn’t say that,” Bruce responds moodily. He needs a nap.

Bruce turned around immediately. There was a sheet suspended in mid-air, floating as if there was a breeze pushing it, even though the windows were all closed.
He had to thank the constant half-light at the manor and the distance that did not make Gordon see well that it was not a floating sheet, but a man wrapped in a sheet, blissfully asleep and unaware of the chaos he was causing.
Clark had warned him about some of his sleep problems.
Bruce had to come up with a story on the fly for the commissioner, and quickly.
"My house is haunted," Bruce quietly told the commissioner, without batting an eyelid.

When he was sitting around security cameras or monitoring comms, he was scribbling notes in a leather bound journal. Even when it looked like he was simply lounging around, he was likely working through something in his mind. To be fair, nobody knew exactly what he was doing most of the time, but everyone knew he was doing something; nobody questioned it, either. Nobody, until Superman.
AKA, Bruce is amazing at hiding shit, and Clark Kent decides to put his investigatory journalist skills to good use.

Bruce and Clark aren't together, but they could be. Bruce has thought about it. Clark has thought about it. But just as Clark decides to finally take the leap, he falls ill. It doesn't take long for Bruce to figure that out, except that Clark's not just sick.
Clark is dying. And in a bid to save his life, Bruce has to race against time in search of a cure.

Bruce's heart leaps into his throat when Clark raises his head and looks up at Bruce with wide, horrified eyes. Clark’s hand covers his mouth, but there’s—blood, hot and bright red, streaming through the cracks of his fingers. Another round of violent coughing wracks his chest and Bruce jerks into motion and lunges forwards to catch him around the shoulders before he hits the dirt.
After a moment, Clark’s hands—they’re shaking, Bruce notices—drop from his mouth and Clark stares down at them in bewildered horror.
“Bruce,” he whispers, with blood painting his lips red and dripping down his chin.
