Summary
“No, absolutely not!”
Leon is livid, standing in Hunnigan’s office, grinding his teeth together so forcefully he’s surprised he doesn’t chip one of them.
“Leon, would you listen to me for one minute?”
She tries to get through to him but he doesn’t want to hear it, it’s enough that they’ve canceled his vacation again, but to ask this of him– is utterly humiliating.
“I said, I am not doing it!”
He digs around in his pants pocket, grasps the dark blue chip he finds there tightly between his thumb and index finger and bangs it on Hunnigan’s desk, leaving it between them like a beacon to remind her of what she’s demanding.
“You might as well just take it now.”
Six months of sobriety. Weekly AA meetings. A prescription for SSRIs, he isn’t dumping in the trash. He’s really trying to be better, he is, but he knows having to accept this mission, will make all of that be for naught.
Or
Chris and Leon take up an undercover mission, needing to set up a fake marriage. All seems to be going according to plan, if it weren’t for their own secrets slowly coming to light.

Sexual assault warning!!
Leon is such a mess in this one... It's written so immaculately.
The first chapter makes no sense at first, but everything starts piecing together... Leon being treated entirely different by his company compared to other agents (In bad ways), being put on missions with little to no equipment or backup, being punished if he even thinks about stepping out of line (or even hints at such a "heinous" act)... Just... All of it. He's been conditioned to obey ever since his dad was telling him to be quiet while abusing him, dare I say groomed by Krauser.
I'm so fucking glad that son of a bitch Koch is dead. THANK FUCKING GOD CHRIS WAS THERE TO SAVE LEON!!! I NEED AN INSTANT REPLAY OF HIS DEATH, PLEASE! SEVEN MINUTES LONG, SLOW MOTION, ANYTHING, I'LL FUCKING WATCH IT BEGINNING TO END TENS OF TIMES OVER. Thank you for your service Chris 🙏🥹
Chris was so, so gentle with Leon through every moment he should've been, I'm so, so happy :)) I just love them... They both have their problems, and they both work through them together. Maybe not so much Chris, but he's there where it counts (even if the moments he wasn't were Leon's worst... But no person can be in two places at once, at all times), and ever so gentle with Leon, every step of the way.
No notes on mischaracterization, so it's great :) I also don't know Chris that well tbh, and Leon is loosing his mind the entire time, so I'm not sure how accurate that is. I know Leon hates admitting his self-destructive habits, anyone does, so that's correct. He struggles immensely with alcoholism, which I find extremely accurate.
It's all so... Chef's kiss ❤️ My compliments to the chef fr <3

Summary
The key to understanding humans is to learn their constants and variables, their fears and their ambitions, then predicting them becomes easy. Or so Wesker thought, until he met Chris Redfield.
A story from Wesker's perspective on the development of his and Chris's relationship, from their first meeting in S.T.A.R.S. through to the horrors of Spencer Mansion.

This is so good...
A super long read, but it's so worth it.
OneShotRevolt weaves the lore, and dynamics so beautifully, I truly don't think any amount of words encapsulate the skill it takes to write something like this.
The fact that Wesker realizes towards the end (Chapter 71) that HE is the one changing Chris, that HE'S been the one moulding him since their first interaction all those chapters ago (2+ years in lore). They're dynamic is so beautiful... Toxic most times, but Wesker's character is woven so greatly (and accurately) that we as the reader are enamored by him. It becomes more tense as time goes on, and this is reflected through their intimate moments. Ugh... Their intimacy can be tooth-rotting fluff because Wesker doesn't often (publicly) show intimacy (so standards are lowered), but when it happens it becomes sad. Wesker is vulnerable in these moments, and he willingly shows his love to Chris. But we all know how this story is going to end.
Wesker had a common thing of not understanding humans and their empathy, though through Chris he finds some semblance of understanding of these things. I really liked how Wesker had mentioned wanting to talk to Chris about his interests, particularly Virology, Science, and such, even if he wasn't going to understand. It just sweetens the whole deal that Wesker isn't as immune to love as he likes to think he is.
I think William and Chris interacting is extremely funny, especially at Wesker's expense. I thought it was super cute that the two got along, especially since William is the closest person to family Wesker has.
Another thing... The fact that Wesker's stance on whether Chris is going to stay with him after all of this is said and done develops throughout the story is soo delicious. First, he thinks that he has Chris wrapped around his finger (he does but would Chris really follow him after he finds out what Wesker has done?). Second, there's the moment in Wesker's office where he thinks, only for a moment, that he's lost his control on Chris (he never had control, he later realizes). And finally, he loses Chris in the end. I knew the canon ending to this story, and yet I wanted the ending to change. I wanted Chris to see that maybe, just maybe, Wesker's love was more important than all the lives he so selfishly took. Idk... I just wanted them to be together, but who in their right mind would continue to willingly surround themself with the person who killed nearly all their friends in the name of Godhood? Not Chris. I suppose he's not that awestruck afterall.
In the end, Wesker comes to understand that Chris was always too good for him, and it was not Chris that needed Wesker, but Wesker that needed Chris, no matter how much he wanted to deny it initially.
History may not repeat, but it rhymes. His death is foreshadowed by this relationship with Chris... How he initially thinks he can "have it all," then loses Chris due to his own selfish, and egotistical actions. This is how he ends up dying in RE5. He gets rage baited so hard then dies in an explosion.
I wonder if he knew how this would play out from the beginning, which path he would take? Would he choose Chris instead of Godhood and freedom? I want to doubt that he would... But his character is brimming with the need to control and become something greater than he already is... So, I don't think he would. If he had multiple tries, I think he would choose Godhood each time trying to reel in everything, just like he did this time. It pains me to say, but I think it's true. 💔
Extra bonus points for realistic back and forth conversations! OneShotRevolt does not know mischaracterization at all 🥹 -

SO GOOD!! But...
6 hour read
Ending chapters soured it. (Ch. 18&19)
Skip the last two chapters... (Chapters 18 & 19) Chapter 18 was definitely non-con falsely tagged as dubious consent. Leon was actively trying to get away from Wesker, and he (Wesker) didn't stop, even when he was hurting him (Leon), which he (Wesker) said he would never do. A few moments throughout it seemed like Leon wanted it (and liked the "dubious consent"), but this felt more like non-con to me. It was rape-y.
It also didn't fit the dynamic the whole story was building up to, it seriously just felt so out of place. To be fair, Wesker did commit suicide to prove his love for Leon, then temporarily lost his memory, but that doesn't excuse it at all. The end really leaned into the whole Wesker being a "monster," (Which, I thought the whole point of the fic, and the reason Leon ended up helping Wesker in the first place, was that people can change??) but, again, the temporary memory loss may have messed up his wiring. It was a pretty big change that happened over the course of like 4 months, and he had to go through it again in less than an hour.
In all other chapters before those last two, I loved their cute dynamic, and their sex scenes felt intimate, like they truly loved each other. The fact that Wesker was holding himself back during sex to not loose control of his strength and (accidentally) crush Leon was HUGE to his character development, which is why I'm bothered he hurt (and nearly kill) Leon on purpose in the second to last chapter. THEN WENT ON TO APOLOGIZE, AND ACT LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED!
I understand that Wesker was deeply in love (that's the reason he killed himself in the first place), but if that was the case he wouldn't have sexually assaulted him when he clearly wasn't interested. Maybe it's all to point out how unpredictable his character is, or should be, but it lowkey just doesn't add up to me.
Leon also agreed to let Wesker infect him if he were to ever die, or be close to death, and that's a pretty big plot point, but it was mentioned in the last chapter, which was over shadowed by my dislike of the ending. The fact that he is okay with getting infected into the very thing that killed his friends and 70,000 citizens of Raccoon City (where it all began for him) is insane love for Wesker. Shows that the insane love is mutual.
I thought the cat comparison to Wesker was really accurate, then it lowkey got weird. Reminded me of a bad relationship I used to be in.
The ending might be someone's cup of tea (definitely was based off comments), but not mine.
(You know something bothered me when I write an essay on it...) -

Summary
The last thing Harry Potter expects is for Draco Malfoy to return to Hogwarts after the war.
Sure enough, Draco Malfoy is huddled at the very end of the table, nose pressed into a heavy, leatherbound book, silver eyes darting away from Harry’s when he notices him looking. He is somehow even thinner than usual; dark robes swamping his frail shoulders, cheekbones sharp, face sallow. If it weren’t for his characteristic white-blonde hair falling over his eyes, Harry is sure he would barely recognise him.
In which a melancholy Draco tries to keep to himself, and Harry is more intrigued by him than ever.

Super good! About an hour and a half read.
Great smut scene, no plotline exactly, but awesome story nevertheless.
Characterisation is top notch, especially the banter. -

Summary
It began subtly, just a simple cough.
Fluixon raised a gloved hand to his mouth, barely thinking, expecting dust or fatigue to be the cause.
But what emerged wasn’t just small drops of saliva.
It was soft.
He froze.
A single purple petal fluttered into his palm.
or, Fluixon was afflicted with a strange disease. Everything is fine... until it isn’t.

Sobbed. Actually sobbed.
Hanahaki is my favorite angst tag and it's even better because Flux dies from it
