Summary
Shadow is very particular about his coffee– he has to have it made just right or it won’t be good at all. That’s why he saves money and carefully crafts his own at home. But one morning when he’s running late to G.U.N., which never happens (he slept in after having a strange dream of swirling blue and green), he has to stop by a random coffee cabin on the way. He picked something off the seasonal menu that sounded acceptable.
When he takes his first sip while riding away, he can’t help but whip his head around to look back at the small coffee shack to sketch it into his memory. No one ever made it the exact T that he did, they either used too much syrup, or drowned out the espresso with too much milk. He could taste the bitter flavor of the espresso and fragrant flavor of lavender, paired with the slight sweetness of honey to balance it out.
It was the best thing he’d ever had.
Who made his order again? A hedgehog like him- but blue, with striking green eyes. Why did that sound familiar?Or: Sonic owns a small coffee shack “Sonic’s Speedy Sips” and Shadow becomes a very loyal customer.

Summary
He barely made it outside and out the door when he was pinned against the side of the alley. He should’ve known better than to run from the fastest thing alive.
Sonic had both hands pinned onto his shoulders, forcing Shadow’s quills to spill out like a halo and fur to be scruffed by the rough brick of the alley wall.
The other panted lightly, “Shadow, what the hell, man? What happened back there? Why were you running from me?”
A fist hit the blue bur’s face, sending him stumbling backwards into the alley.
“Leave. Me. Alone.”
Shadow turned to leave, hoping that would be enough of a warning. Instead, he felt Sonic grab his wrist, spinning him around and pressing him back against the wall, hands pinned this time.
“No. Not until you tell me what happened,” he leaned back to look Shadow over, “I know you, Shads. You would never let a slip-up like that happen.”
OR Shadow gets distracted while on a mission watching Sonic work: Sonic confronts him about it and things escalate.

Summary
A wanted poster whipped and pulled against it's pin against the board. Tearing the worn thin paper even further at the top, before floating down to the ground in the dust. One more forgotten among the wanted posters for Green Hills.
It's sketch barely contained the glare the striped hedgehog was giving, a dangerous eye peeking out from his wide-brimmed hat, and a gun posed dangerously at anyone who looked at the paper.

Summary
You weren't a technician, you weren't a security guard, you weren't a daycare assistant. You're just an employee. Staff. The ‘jack-of-all-trades’ employee with mediocre at best skills and specialty in none, tasked with doing miscellaneous jobs that robots couldn't do and human staff couldn't care to. The job is unpredictable, but it pays good and it's relatively easy.
Except for the part where all the animatronics are more sentient than you thought, and you're roped into a mystery surrounding the Daycare Attendants, who are bit too curious about you for your liking.

“My heart,” the voice whispered, stepping closer, “beats for you—as it always has.”
The words hit like a slap. Sonic’s body locked up, spine stiff, mind skidding like tyres on black ice.
No. No way. That’s not—
That wasn’t Shadow. That wasn’t something Shadow would ever say. Not in a hundred years. Not even as a joke.
“…Wait.” The word came out rough. As if it scraped against something inside him. “You’re not Shadow. Are you.”
The smile changed—less like a stranger's grin now and more like something tender. Familiar even. Like Sonic had just said something kind. He tilted his head, studying him with calm reverence.
“That is correct, my liege,” he said, and then, with an almost theatrical grace, dropped to one knee. “It is I. Lancelot.”
And just like that, the world tilted beneath Sonic’s feet.
Or—Lancelot ends up hijacking Shadow's body!

Welcome to Aftershocks, a Sonic the Hedgehog story written from the POV of Shadow! This story takes place after the end of Sonic PRIME; I recommend watching that before reading, however it is not necessary to understand the plot. I'm throwing in some Cyberpunk elements/themes too, just 'cause. I really enjoyed that game and the dystopian nature of it, and I felt it fit in well with the story I am trying to tell!
Think Cyberpunk 2077 but with Mobians instead of humans basically.
-Warning: there will be graphic depictions of blood, gore, violence, and injury. There will also be a handful of explicit adult scenes. The story is tagged as such, however just in case, here is one more warning! This story also features the ship Sonadow. There's other ships too, but Sonadow is the main focus.
