    In another universe, The Crown Prince of Xian Le, Xie Lian, did not ascend as a martial god, but as a god of flowers, a minor god.

    A minor god who made a mistake, and was punished, sealed in his own little portion of heaven with barely any power, indebted to the Heavenly Officials for their mercy and kindness. He spends his days in isolation, occasionally visited by gods when they want him for their festivals. He cannot refuse.

    All days were nice. All days were the same.

    Until a new 'god' visited, one draped in red with a large, red butterfly perched on his shoulder.

    “Hello, Gege. You can call me San Lang.”

    After his second banishment, Xie Lian is taken captive by the royal family of Yong’an. Immortal and unaging, he becomes their divine possession- a prize passed from king to king as a symbol of Yong’an’s might and proof of Heaven’s favour.

    He endures decades of control and humiliation, until the birth of a child changes everything. Lang Qianqiu- son of Yong'an's queen, but Xie Lian’s by blood- grows up beneath the shadow of secrets, lies, and stolen names.
