Summary
Ilya was stuck with Shane Hollander’s stupidly pretty face on the side of a mountain for the entire summer, with only a few horses, mules, dogs, and a thousand or so sheep to distract him.
He knew himself well enough to know that he had a hard time avoiding trouble, and Shane Hollander was going to be the definition of trouble.
He felt his muscles relax the way they only ever did when he was off the grid, free from the weight of people raising their eyebrows when they heard his strange accent or asking him too many questions about where he came from.
Out here, it was just him, the mountains, and the animals. And, he supposed, Shane Hollander.
Or, Shane and Ilya follow the path of Ennis and Jack from Brokeback Mountain, working as cowboys together summer after summer, and dealing with the feelings that they can only explore on Wolfbird Mountain.

He squeezed his eyes shut, and desperately hoped to open them in the nondescript Marriott hotel room he was sharing with Hayden. Please let this whole night be a bad dream.
