The characterizations are pristine. Possibly the best I have ever seen, seriously.
The way they write panic and frustration and embarrassment is beautiful. Each interaction is so painfully in character that I can SEE Simon and Ryland living these scenes out.

She's been staring at the footage for over an hour today, the chase playing on a loop as it had in the days since it happened, Grace's bright yellow jacket a beacon in the blurs of gray buildings, black coats, and dull green grass. She stares at it for so long that it becomes the only thing she sees in her dreams anymore.

Love the characterizations. Also, asexual Grace is an automatic W in my book. I love this headcanon with my whole heart. Very sad, and again, very in character.

THE Healy x March fic . It has so many kudos for a reason.
I mean, the top notch characterizations, plot, emotions, and slow burn- you can tell the author cares for every character because each of them as heir own set of struggles, weaknesses, fears, etc. that make them their own person. I find that some long fics have a tendency to hone in on the author's favorite character when that wasn't the original point of the fic, so super kudos here.

After a year of staying sober, March has a relapse. Things quickly spiral out of control.
In the end, it was just another thing to talk about when people asked. Now that—well, that was worth the risk. The way their eyes widened, clear with care and concern. How their voices were always hushed and cautious. Then if he was lucky, a hug. Someone who’d coddle him a little. Someone who’d listen with understanding. Yeah, that made it all worth it. He missed that gentle kind of affection. He missed getting it from his wife.

Heartbreaking, and to a painful extent, relatable. The characterizations are spot on as well, and I appreciate the darker take on his portrayed alcoholism. I think in the movie, and especially the fandom, they treat it as a joke/aesthetic to be sought out.

Grief was a like a hand holding you down and right now it had Holland March by the neck. Squeezing and grabbing and not leaving any room to move, to breathe, to take a look around and realize that the sun was starting to peek over the horizon.
