Ilya snorts, then pulls his hand out of Shane’s tight grasp and instead wraps his arm around his waist. “I cannot believe you allowed alcohol into your system at all when you’re actively at the Olympics.”
And it was unbelievable, in many ways. Out-of-character, yes. Risky, maybe. But Shane had finally been wearing something other than athletic wear or those strange Team Canada puffers, and Ilya had been sitting across from him, and maybe Shane was feeling a little wild.

Rookie Shane Hollander starts his hockey career with the Boston Raiders and catches the eye of the team captain, Ilya Rozonov.
“Hmm…” Ilya hums, eyes dropping to Shane’s lips again. “I think you’d like that.”
“Like what?”
Those ice blue eyes jump back up to Shane’s, as Ilya lowers his hand slightly, lifting Shane’s chin just a little as his fingers wrap gently around his throat. Not squeezing, just holding.
Shane’s eyes go wide, but he doesn’t move. He reaches out a hand to Ilya’s chest to push him away, but then finds his fingers curling into Ilya’s shirt instead.
Ilya grins. “You like that, Hollander?” His voice is deep, dangerous.
