Summary
Gai has never been extremely good with weapons, always preferring his bare hands, but Anbu required a vast knowledge of everything so he had trained himself hard and then harder to learn even just the basics.
He still wasn’t as good as many others, but he also had a lot of aces up his sleeves.---
Gai has joined Anbu. He thinks everything will go smoothly, but nothing ever goes as it should in the shinobi world.
Something happens. Many things happens, to be honest, and Gai is not sure if he can keep up with everything.Series

Summary
Kakashi doesn't look away from him, his sharingan spinning like he wants to remember Gai's face in his last moment. "No one will miss you anyway." And Gai can feel it, the Raikiri cutting through his body.
He wants to scream, but blood is filling his mouth, drowning every sound in a wet gurgle, and his body is spasming, fighting against his bindings, trying to escape the pain even though he can't move.
He can feel a hand gripping at his heart, and it's a wonder that he's still alive, when the hand clench tight around the beating organ.
Gai screams. -

Summary
And there is something. Something new, something that Gai is sure he never felt. It starts from the pit of his stomach, and like a seed it slowly blooms and grows.
It’s a feeling unfamiliar to Gai, and he struggles to give it a name, watching as the people walk past him without a second glance.---
When Dai dies, Gai thought someone would help him through the crushing grief.
He was wrong, no one seems to care about him. And if no one cares, then who is he? If no one cares for Maito Gai, he might as well not exist anymore.
Gai makes a decision, one from which he can't go back once taken.
He joins Anbu.Series

Summary
It shouldn't have been a bad day, it hadn't started like one, on the contrary. And it isn't right that there is no one to get angry with, when the sun arise and everything seems so perfect that you want to smile for every little thing, thinking about how beautiful your life is and what wonderful - motherfucking - day awaits you with the people you love.

Summary
“I think,” Caleb says, slow and measured, as though he's thought about this for a long time, “I've had enough of going through every day like I'm about to die, because I'm not. Not anymore. Now, I… I think I would like to live.”
[In which the new Archmage of Civil Influence, her sole annex, the former Shadowhand of the Kryn Dynasty, and a weary transmutation professor at Soltryce Academy knit themselves back together, hand in unlovable hand.]

Summary
He pointed to the cat on the threshold, now laid on its stomach and grooming its own short creamy beige fur with a pink tongue as if it had not a care in the world. "New cat?"
It took Wulf a full two weeks longer to catch on than he wanted to admit.

Summary
“Isn’t it something else? Feeling that sort of power humming through your veins?” Essek whispered low in Caleb’s ear. Sinfully low, stoking the interest of that quiet part of him that lingered in the back of Caleb’s skull, that wanted to know more. That wanted him to continue.
It was a gradual journey, and a pleasure, coming to know, intimately, that part of Caleb. The part that begged to be unleashed. Looking at it, like looking in a mirror.
And the difference between you and I, is thinner than a razor.
Caleb hadn’t been wrong. If only he had heard himself from where Essek had been sitting.

Summary
“Allow me to make it up to you?” Essek heard himself ask, suddenly too soft, too genuine, all without his permission.
Caleb cocked his head to the side just so, his eyes searching, lips caught parted halfway to whatever he’d been about to say before those words came tumbling out of Essek’s mouth. “How do you suggest?” he asked, that low, faintly rasping quality returning to his voice, his eyes catching the shifting light beautifully.
What had he just told Caleb about the dangers of acting on impulse? Essek swallowed, his mouth dry suddenly. He held his hand out to Caleb, not trusting himself to speak. Wordlessly, a smile flickering at his lips, Caleb took his hand. Essek pulled him up to his feet.
