Summary
Lucy’s time at the Orphanage taught her many lessons.
Some of them were metaphorical, like the world isn’t fair or you have to work to earn things, to not talk back. (She never quite mastered that one, try as the matron might Lucy had always have a mouth on her, for better or worse)
She also picked up some physical skills there. Mending, basic cooking skills, firebuilding, some basic first aid (she’s mostly self taught on that front). Stuff that’s fairly useful and she can still apply today.
But the skill that Lucy covets the most is her baking skills.

It's a cold shoulder, muttered remarks, a refusal to look her in the eye, and the disgust the overwhelms his expression when he sees the pansy shell she's trapped in.
He hates her.
Well, at the very least, he hates him.
But there's no way in hell someone like him could ever smile at someone like her... He doesn't even know her.
