    Briefly, as pain explodes through him, Zhongli realizes several of his ribs have shattered all at once.

    He sees Childe. Sees Childe’s face. Sees horror and fear as he goes white as a sheet. And then—rage. Zhongli has seen many expressions twist Childe’s face—disgust, loathing, frustration, lust, desire—but never this stark white rage.

    Lurid violet light explodes around Childe, casting terrifying shadows sharp and sublime over the ruins. When it fades, in Childe’s place is a monster.
