    Summary

Verso does not want this life. Maelle gave it to him anyway. And because the winner takes it all, he has no choice but to remain.

Learning to live is not an easy thing when you have spent so long existing for a purpose you never chose. It is even harder when you have to stand beside the people you once believed you had to sacrifice.

But perhaps, through bonds he never believed he could build, even someone like Verso can learn that existing is not the same as living.

    Summary

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a city built half upon the water and wholly upon its own ambition must, sooner or later, marry someone for the difference.

Lumière had been doing so for the better part of a century, and with a bride's practised composure. Where the land gave out—and in Lumière the land was forever giving out, shrugging its wharves into the sea as though ashamed of them—the councils arranged what the tide would not provide: an alliance here, a settlement there, a good name wed to a good harbour, and both, it was generally agreed, the better for it. The city took money in as it took the sea in, through locks and gates and a great deal of careful engineering, and it let very little of either back out again.

The one where Verso is Mr Darcy, Gustave is Elizabeth Bennet, and Jane Austen probably has some questions for me.

    Summary

Gustave's expedition has turned out nothing like what he expected. He should be focused on the Paintress, but all he can really focus on is the mysterious stranger who saved him and Maelle at the Stone Wave Cliffs.

Did he have to be so damn hot?

Aka a Gustave falls in love in 5 moments fic (there are a lot more, but he was too busy staring at Verso to notice)

    Summary

encordés (French, mountaineering, plural): roped together; tied to a partner on the same rope, so that if one of you falls, the other can hold the line.

Gustave is an experienced climber. When a route in the French Alps goes wrong, he expects broken bones and weeks of gruesome recovery. What he does not expect is, instead, to fall, slowly and catastrophically, for the unfairly attractive mountain rescuer who keeps visiting his hospital room.

But Verso carries his own scars, and Gustave has learned the hard way that being wanted means hiding the parts of himself that are broken, and that leaving first hurts less than being left behind.

This is a story about concussed flirting, scars and second chances, about being seen completely — and two stubborn idiots learning that the rope works in both directions.

    Summary

He plays all the sharp, loud notes, he plays and plays until it bleeds, until it reverberates in his skull in a relentless cacophony. Until it echoes in the hall, up to the glass ceiling.

A sharp movement in the audience catches his eye, beyond the halo of the stage light.

At first he thinks it’s Maelle, that she’s spotted him doing something that she doesn’t like, doesn’t fit the perfect image of it in her head, but…

    It’s not Maelle.

    No, it’s Gustave.

Gustave knows something's wrong with Lumiére. With himself. With Maelle. And he knows he'll find answers with the mysterious pianist. And Verso sees.
