Summary
Lotus Pier had many ghosts. From the East to West Face, the ground was stained with blood, the lakes clouded with ashes.
The Great Massacre of Lotus Pier was marked down in history as the first major bloodbath by the hands of Qishan Wen, leaving the sect haunted for many years before the heir returned to reclaim the Lotus Throne.
That was more than two decades ago.
Now the very sight of a water ghoul within several li from Lotus Pier was enough to spark alarm among the disciples. After years of intense purging and delivering restless souls to the afterlife, little to no resentment energy could be found, even if you tried.
So where could this particular ghost have come from?! After two decades of inaction, why now of all times?! And what beef does the ghost have against the very venerable Sect Leader Jiang?!
The Jiang disciples could only hazard a guess.
That was fine, it really was, but how come Wei Wuxian was invited to help solve the problem?! After 8 years of not seeing each other, how desperate was Sect Leader Jiang to call that wayward man to deal with the ghost?!

Summary

Summary
In a twist of fate, Jiang Cheng finds himself having to pretend to be Lan Xichen, while Lan Xichen has to play as Jiang Cheng back in Lotus Pier.
From the outside looking in, Jiang Cheng thinks to himself that Lan Xichen is a better him in every way- a better son, a better brother, and a better Sect Heir. He realises that his mother and Wei Wuxian are both particularly nice to Lan Xichen-as-him, and wonders where he had gone wrong.
Meanwhile, Lan Xichen realises that there is more to the polite and eager-to-please heir of Lotus Pier he met at Cloud Recesses, and starts to wonder.

Summary
Boggart yaos are deadly shapeshifters that scare their victims to death by taking the shape of their worst fears. Their true form has never been seen by anyone in recorded history…until now.
A post-canon Xicheng fic.
…"You wish to know why the boggart yao did not take on a form when it faced me?" he asks. "What should I have left to be afraid of, I wonder? Losing my parents, my siblings, my home? The shidis and shimeis I grew up with? Or should I fear failing my duty to my sect by remaining unmarried and heirless? Perhaps I should be scared of failing those I love the most."
He risks a glance towards Wei Wuxian and Jin Ling, and instantly regrets it. Wei Wuxian is in tears, and his nephew doesn't look a whole lot better. Breathing in deeply, Jiang Cheng looks at Lan Xichen instead, drawing strength from the steadiness of his presence.
"What form could a boggart yao take for me," he finishes, "when everything I ever feared has already come to pass?"
