Summary
Kafka in his kaiju form is one of the defense force’s strongest assets. He along with Narumi Gen and all the rest of the captains of their respective divisions. But if something happens, they can’t be everywhere at once.
They can’t protect their weaker teammates if they’re targeted. Or if a civilian gets caught in the cross fire—- or worse: the intelligent kaiju using innocent people as hostages.
Kafka dreads the future. He predicts that an event will happen that would tilt the world on its head, where kaiju creeps out of every dark crevice like rodents. There will be a time where kaiju will launch a full blown invasion to colonize as much land as possible. If that happens, with how things are working right now, countless people will die. Even civilians in their trusted protective shelter might perish when the apocalypse happens. And Kafka has every intention to protect as many people from that as possible.

I’m willing to ignore you for the sake of clinging to good news,” Satoru mutters, manoeuvring so he could rest his chin against the table and stare at Yuuji instead. “Am I really your favourite, Yuuji-kun?”
“Hm?” Yuuji asks through a mouthful of fruit loops and slightly-coloured milk. He swallows, tilts his head to regard him, and announces with a bright smile:
“My brother is my favourite! He let me see the dead guy he brought last time. He was covered in strawberry juice though, and smelled weird.”
or;
Satoru - being a good samaritan and also having too much time on his hands than what's good for him -saves little Yuuji from being kidnapped. Pros: he can put 'child-savior' on his extensive list of aspiring qualities and can brag about it for the next three generations. Cons: Yuuji's brother is as elusive as a shadow, and the kid is under Satoru's care until he can find him.
The fact that that sentence exists should have everyone worried.
