Summary
This can’t be happening, Elphaba thinks, as she hears the gun discharge, the sharp crack cutting through the air like a knife. It’s a beautiful day, an unfairly beautiful day for violence. It's already been a terrible day too, and she never thought it could any worse. But Elphaba knows, deep in her heart, what is going to happen. There's no time to prevent it, even if her mind was thinking fast enough. Fiyero is too close. His aim is steady. His time in the Gale Force has taught him to be a weapon against the Wizard’s enemies. But he has never been a killer. Not until today, when he’s stressed from trying to figure out how to keep them all safe and his palms are sweaty and his finger slips.
The bullet launches itself from the barrel of his gun, embedding itself in Glinda's chest.
Or: while trying to protect Elphaba, Fiyero accidentally pulls the trigger. As they flee to Kiamo Ko with an injured Glinda in tow, Elphaba and Fiyero have to find a way to heal her and protect her from her enemies. And in the process, they need to set the record straight on a few things.

Summary
Elphaba isn’t interested in the Emerald City’s glittering social season or the machinations of its marriage market. She’s come to the City to support her younger sister's ascension to the throne and help her find true love. Luckily, Nessa falls in love at the first ball of the season. Unluckily, her new love interest’s older sister is insufferable.
Galinda, still reeling from a family tragedy, is just trying to shepherd her sisters through their first social season, marry her best friend, and restore her family’s finances. She’s not expecting the Queen of Oz to start courting her younger sister, or to have to spend so much time with Nessa’s prickly older sister, Princess Elphaba. At first, Galinda is happy to pretend that she's exactly the kind of brainless socialite that Elphaba thinks she is. But as first impressions fizzle out and she realizes the two of them are more alike than she could ever have suspected, Elphaba threatens to send Galinda’s carefully constructed facade spiraling and forces her to consider another path: one where they put their own happiness first, whatever the consequences.

Summary

Summary
When Elphaba receives a call to join the For Good Initiative, the world’s first team of superheroes and the pet project of the CEO of Upland Technologies, she joins for the million dollar pay check. Yes, it would be nice to show the rest of the world that superpowers aren’t something to be feared, but she's had decades to learn how cruel people can be. All that matters to her is protecting her younger sister and buying back her mother's apartment. As her year-long contract begins she has enough on her plate dealing with new teammates, public relations, the CEO's high expectations, and the team's training supervisor who promises to help Elphaba learn to control her powers. She certainly isn’t expecting to meet the CEO's daughter Galinda, who doesn’t have powers of her own and seems to hate Elphaba in particular but will still do anything to get on the team. As rivalry turns to friendship and then to something more, Elphaba comes to find out that Galinda is hiding secrets of her own, secrets that may unlock a decade old cold case and threaten the very foundations of the team itself.

When Elphaba receives an invitation to spend the summer in the Emerald City, competing in Oz’s oldest and most prestigious magical competition, she thinks her life is about to change. She’ll finally be able to earn the respect that her father has never given her, perhaps even ask the Wizard of Oz to grant her heart's desire. Then she realizes she's competing against the Queen of Oz’s daughter.
Galinda has wanted to be a sorceress since she was old enough to want anything. Although magic doesn’t come naturally to her, she’s worked hard to hone her skills and earn a place in the competition. Then she learns just how powerful her opponents are and realizes that sheer hard work might not be enough to achieve her dreams.
Both girls arrive resolved to dislike each other, each having something the other covets. But over the course of the summer, as futures are forged and magical challenges test everything they’ve ever known about the study and practice of magic, they find they can’t help being drawn together again and again—and it’s a lot harder to keep loathing each other than they anticipated.
