Cas shook his head slightly. He grabbed Dean’s hand, taking it and setting it back on his knee, his fingers threatening to intertwine with Dean’s.
“No it’s not nothing,” Cas looked down with a small sigh. “You always see the best in me Dean, even when I don’t deserve it”
Dean focused on their hands for a moment, biting back the urge to run his thumb back and forth against Cas’s soft skin. “Well it’s what you’ve done for me..”
“Dean..” Cas said softly. His voice a sliver more emotional than usual. He squeezed Dean’s hand reassuringly, almost as a sign of affection.
This felt way too real.

When strange murders start in LA Chloe Decker didn't think to much of it at first. Which was a mistake on her part, honestly. She should know better by now. Being the Devils girlfriend and all that.
But she couldn't have seen this shit show coming.Or: Team Free Will lands in LA after a hunt gone wrong. At first it seems like a bit of an inconvenience until certain things start to differ from what they thought was set in stone. Lucifer walks the earth freely. Heaven and hell are more or less at piece and demonic possensins aren't a thing. Just like vampires. And werewolfs. And other supernatural species.
Fuck, they are in yet another alternate universe, aren't they?

Cas’ face turned towards him slightly. “Are you alright?” he asked. “You seem…on edge.”
That was definitely one way of putting it. Dean shrugged. “I’m better now.” Now that you’re here. The rest of the sentence went unsaid, but Dean was somehow sure that they both heard it. “Just had a nightmare, that’s all.”
Cas stepped closer, turning to lean against the island beside Dean. “About what?”
“You.” The word slipped out before Dean could stop it. He swallowed hard and forged on ahead, in too deep to stop now.
“Your, uh, death. At Kelly’s cabin.”
He very carefully avoided looking over at Cas as he spoke, not wanting to see the pity in his eyes.
“It…it messed me up, man.”
