Besides, when Sakura shows up, Sasuke will be so enamoured by her, he’ll forget all about Naruto anyway. He’ll realise he should have invited Sakura to be his date from the beginning, and Naruto, having known this all along, will have not lost a thing, and been able to engage in some fun, yet entirely harmless, flirting with a cute boy on a Friday night before he has to crawl back into his assignment dungeon.
He’s letting off steam. Relieving some stress.
No harm in getting his heart a little wet in the process.
Sakura's crush on Sasuke is beginning to get out of hand, and no one can see it but Naruto. He tries his best to be supportive, always her best friend and wingman, by getting close to Sasuke so he can push them together. His plan kind of backfires when Sasuke becomes interested in someone else instead: him.

Super fun and sweet! Really good, flowy writing. Sasuke is sweet & not consumed by rage xd which is good for a turn. Naruto is Naruto and Sakura is bit of a villain but it all works out in the end!

So immersive and engaging with a really nice flow of writing and such nice tension between them. Interesting characterisation and dynamic that feel real and of substance (not a juvenile representation of religious trauma or internalized homophobia). Love that the strenght of their individual characters show.

Hauntingly beautiful work, grabs you like Sasuke grabbed Naruto, pulls you in and let's you lose yourself in the story. This has one of the best writing among the fics I've read, there is nothing juvenile or forced in it, which so often ruin fics for me. Definitely a re-read! I haven't found a SNS fic so beautiful and to my liking like this for years.
