Summary
Ishmael's a low-grade Fixer in a dead-end startup office known as the Jade Ring. When her rival gets the promotion to Office Second that she'd been gunning for, Ishmael doesn't know how to handle it. Sure, they call a truce, but who knows how long that could last?
Heathcliff never expected to be the Office Second. Having power over his little family is a strange feeling, but he's determined to do right by the Office. He just needs to stay focused, but Ishmael seems to be determined to distract him.
Hong Lu doesn't care about gender dysphoria. He has a job and isn't a person. With two Maestros and a Capo showing particular interest in the town where the Jade Ring is stationed, there's a wonderful show to be made. That's all he has to do. Observe. Play the game. Don't think about it.
Ryoshu's trying to raise her daughter while also dismantling as much of the Fingers' influence as possible, and she's taking Hong Lu along for the ride. If it results in putting her on estrogen in the process, all the better.
This fic is a somewhat canon-compliant slowburn romance designed for a mature audience and assumes you are caught up in Limbus Company.

This page takes a look at Document Number LCB-5-17. LCB stands for Limbus Company Bus, 5 is for Sinner Number 5 (also known as Meursault), and 17 designates this as the seventeenth document taken in by this specific department. In this document, Meursault and Dante have a meeting regarding the usage (and potential ramifications of said usage) of Meursault's new identity, The Thumb East Capo IIII. Given that he is based on Lei Heng in this Mirror World, in Meursault's mind, something is guaranteed to go wrong if Ryoshu finds out. Dante, unbelievably, does not understand that potentially using IDs based on people the Sinners know and are still traumatized over in some way is most likely a bad idea for company morale.
(A comedic commentary on how awkward Mephistopheles's ID selection has to be when it comes to the Sinners.)
