Summary
Eva was fierce. She was strong and proud and determined. Even as a baby she was making her own rules, always leaving everyone else to follow along. She was talented. She was smart. She was pretty in a way that exuded confidence and drew attention. And Max really did adore all of that about her. Admired it in a quiet way because she was everything he thought he might want to be.
Max decided the worst thing about Eva was being her twin brother. Decided it when he was young and still accepting her insistence that she was the older sibling. Back when he let her drag him into all her games and mischief. Trussed him up in bright dresses, plastic jewelry, and cheap lipstick. And he was always curious. Always wanting to be a little more like Eva.
Because Eva could be anything.
Max just wanted to be something. Someone. Someone a little bit wonderful, if he could manage it.

Summary
"Are you good?" Todd asked when Levon failed to form a sentence, and Levon realized how out of character it was for him to call Todd. There a was a layer of concern just under Todd's indifferent tone, and the protectiveness that seemed ever present in Todd when they were younger and Todd was always saving Levon from his problems. Levon's anger seemed to melt away at that familiar sense of security.
"I'm good," Levon spoke finally and a soft smile spread over his lips. "Are you good?"
"I'm good," Todd said gruffly.
"Are we good?" Levon asked and Todd scoffed.
"What we. There is no we. We're not friends."
"Wouldn't want you as a friend anyway," Levon snickered. "You're kind of an asshole."Or
Todd and Levon, and their acceptance that they were never meant to be friends.

A warm shiver rolls through him and Gris swallows thickly, gaze sliding to Enjin's mouth. It shines underneath the common room light, lips glistening from the sugar-saliva mix coating them. Enjin slips his tongue out, the centre of it stained a bright red, and slowly drags the end of his tongue from the stick to the top of the round sucker. At the tip, he flicks his tongue back out, curls it around the sweet, and drags it between his lips, cheeks hollowing as he clearly sucks.
The biggest mistake comes when Gris looks up. Their gazes lock and Enjin fucking winks at him.
Enjin buying sweet treats for everyone seems nice, innocuous, innocent even.
But Gris knows there's something ulterior to Enjin's motives and he is going to be the death of him.

Summary
For a fleeting moment Enjin forgets his rut, his predicament, his anger. For a single second, he groans, fingers steepling against the floor, hips bucking up. Despite everything, Gris is familiar. He smells like safety and warmth and Enjin focuses on that feeling as he bites back, nips at Gris’ lips and tries to take control. He bucks again, shifts Gris just enough he can roll them over so he’s sitting on top, and grabs Gris’ face with both hands.
Everybody knows when Enjin's about to hit his rut, he becomes insufferable. And everybody knows there's only one person who can handle Enjin.
