Summary
Mike moves them so that Will's leaning his weight onto him, Will's shoulder pressed to Mike's chest, positioning Will half on top of him so he isn't fully on the ground.
"Will? Speak to me what's going on?!"
Being closer to the floor makes it clear to Will what's happening, he's the one shaking. His whole body is convulsing.
"Can you hear me??!"
He can, just barely, but Will can't answer him. His tongue feels heavy in his mouth, like it's been injected with led. It's just a slab of useless wet flesh in his mouth.

It's not looking good.
But it's nothing unusual, this is how every April fools is in school, it's like a warzone. Will's half surprised no one's tried to directly interact with him yet other than shouting names.What does surprise Will is that after Math ends, Mike pulls him aside. He looks nervous? He's pulling on his sweater sleeve and going from foot to foot, barely able to keep still.
"Hey Will" he shuffles his feet, staring downward, he can hardly meet Will's eyes "Can you come over later?"
Oh he's definitely got something planned. No worries, Will won't lower his guard.
"Ofcourse Mike"

Summary
It's almost-winter in Hawkins and Will wants to go out on a walk. Worried with the possibility of being taken again haunting him, the idea of someone else being taken instead, not to the upside down, but to his world, doesn't even cross his mind until he walks into a familiar face. But this face, shouldn't be here.
:Will comes across Mike. But Mike's not from his world. This Mike is from a universe when instead of Will disappearing on November 6th, it was him instead.
Trying to not cause some catastrophic world-ending event, Will attempts to hide this Mike from everyone else, hyjinks ensue.
This is set between season 4 and 5.

"Had fun?" Will asks playfully.
"Oh, yeah," Mike stretches sarcastically.
They stay like that for a little longer than necessary, then reluctantly separate, still looking at each other. Will can't hold the eye contact for long, and turns away, biting down a smirk.
"Goodnight, then," he breathes out.
"Yeah. Goodnight," Mike nods nervously and smiles. That same stupid dorky smile.

Will Byers is sixteen when he dies for a second time. Now, he thought, there would be no revivals, no take-backs. He would die and that would be the end of the short and miserable life of William Byers. Which is really fucking sad because he feels like life would've finally been good for him. He'd defeated the Mind Flayer and Vecna. He'd finally gotten his love for Mike reciprocated. But now he was there, in his arms, quickly fading. The Mind Flayer’s connection was dragging him down with it into the depths of oblivion. Perhaps the universe still has one kindness to spare for him.

Will is sent back to the summer of 1985 after he dies. He gets strange visions and enlists the help of Jane Hopper to recover his memories and hopefully save more than they could last time around.
