Summary
“Tommy and I broke up.”
Maddie deflates at the pain in her little brother’s voice. Before she can soothe him, Buck keeps talking.
“Mom and dad hate me, pretty permanently this time-”
“I’m sure-”
“And Eddie’s dad made it clear that I’m not welcome in his son’s or his grandson’s life. So.” Buck gives the most painful smile Maddie’s ever seen. Tears suddenly stream down his face. “Everyone’s leaving me.”
Or: Buck shows up at Maddie's doorstep with a fever and quite a few recent emotional scars. This makes Maddie put on her Big-Sister pants and say a few truths and burn a few bridges. She also brings home exactly what Buck needs to feel better, though technically, it was Eddie's idea.

Summary
He looks back at Eddie and Eddie blinks at him like he knows. “What the hell? Fine,” Buck says, throwing a hand into the air and letting it fall to slap against his thigh. “Family trip to Hershey.”
Chris cheers and Eddie grins, like he’s won and hasn’t just signed up to carry boxes around and watch two people he barely knows and probably won’t be particularly welcoming, argue over furniture. He leans in to pepper kisses on Buck’s face, ending with an audible mwah to Buck’s birthmark.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself, Eddie. This isn’t going to be fun.”
or, old wounds are reopened as buck, eddie and christopher travel to hershey to help pack up buck's childhood home.

or
“I think you should call him.”
Eddie tilts his head and stops himself from laughing again, clearly trying to read if Buck’s joking.
Eventually, Eddie lands on a what? that sounds like he’s genuinely convinced Buck may be losing his mind.
“You should call him,” Buck repeats.
“Buck,” Eddie says in a tone so soft, but equally as confused. “You want me to grab another man’s number out of the trash and call him?”
