He tiptoed up the stairs, but when he opened the bedroom door, it was empty. Shane's Egyptian cotton sheets were untouched, the comforter tucked in so tight you could bounce a quarter off it.

They're finally together after nearly a decade of skirting around their feelings, but they made it! He's never felt better about his professional or personal achievements.
