“Oh, come on,” Grantaire scoffs, because 1) he’s an asshole and 2) having Enjolras’ furious gaze directed at him and only him is...something, to say the least. Intoxicating, if he’s feeling pretentious. And honestly, when is he ever not. “Pretty boy power prodigies like you benefit from this ’oppressive system’.”
“Grantaire,” Bossuet whispers frantically. “You maybe wanna, uh. Cut it out.”
He wants to do no such thing, thank you very much. He’s on a roll. But then he notices the telltale scent of smoke in the air. He notices the wisps of it coming from Enjolras’ clenched fists. Ah. Whoops.

"You want truth, Apollo?" Grantaire met his eyes. "Very well. I'll make you a wager. Ten minutes until the bell of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont rings the hour. Ask me anything you like, anything at all, and I will answer with complete, utter, brazen honesty. No evasions. No mockery. Nothing but truth."
Enjolras does not know what to expect when he accepts Grantaire' wager. He discovers ten minutes contains an expanse.

Galadriel then explained the shift that had taken place in Quenya over time. The transition from “th” to “s” was most significant, but there were other sounds that had drifted, too, and everything in the way she spoke marked her as learning from a Fëanorian. Celebrían laughed with delight when she learnt the truth. This was worth at least three pages of teasing in her next letter to Elrond and she told her mother as such. She did not tell her mother that she thought Elrond’s accent was terribly attractive, but she had a horrible feeling her mother guessed anyway.
Celebrían meets Elrond, who still proudly identifies with the House and family that raised him, and immediately falls in love to the horror and amusement of everyone around them. It still takes them a millennia to get together.

It is at the core a character study of two what-if scenarios: What if Javert raises Cosette? And: What if Jean Valjean remains in prison? The story spans Jean Valjean's life, so yes, it follows Valjean until his end.
