Summary
As Crown Princess of Piltover, diplomatic voyages to other nations are a normal part of Caitlyn's life. She is rarely alone and never far from her core group of elite guards who are tasked with keeping her safe.
As a newly-knighted member of the princess' Queensguard, Vi may be less comfortable with long voyages at sea but her duty is one she believes in. The Piltovan royal family has plenty of enemies and Vi is under no illusions of how closely Zaun's fate is tied to its sister nation; if anything were to happen to her charge, the consequences would be far-reaching.
An attempt on Caitlyn's life puts everything Vi has learned to the test. Alone and unprepared, they must return Caitlyn home safely or Piltover loses its sole heir. It's up to Vi to ensure she survives the long journey, and it won't be easy with the would-be assassins still at large.
Of course, neither of them considers the other challenge they face: maintaining the strict boundaries of Princess and Sworn Knight as they share more than just the road ahead and their nightly campfires...

Summary
When Caitlyn's arranged marriage failed, she chose to escape the only world she'd ever known by traveling abroad. What started out as a spiritual journey of self-reflection turned into her moving across the globe and opening her own inn in a small coastal town in the US. With the help of her new best friend/inn cook Powder, Caitlyn has slowly worked on relaxing her lifestyle and breaking out of the box she felt society had put her in when she was back in London.
After a few years, she's still not fully ready to open herself up to love or any sort of relationship that might put her back in that box. When she meets Vi, Powder's sister and a woman who also has a torrid history with love, she finds herself wondering if the walls she's built should be reinforced or torn down.

Summary
Caitlyn Kiramman was always meant for more—for Piltover, for greatness, for a life where everything had a place, everything made sense. Vi was never supposed to be part of that equation.
They were young when they first met. They weren't dating, not really. Gravity is the reason we fall, Caitlyn had said to her. But Vi knows now—there are other forces, unseen, inescapable. Light bends under gravity. Even the brightest things carry weight. And Caitlyn had always been light to her.
Years later, Vi sees Caitlyn’s name on the news. Caitlyn, who has been in control of everything, is in a car crash. Twisted metal, shattered glass, sirens wailing into the night. By the time Vi reaches the hospital, they’re already fighting to keep Caitlyn alive. She watches from the ER doorway as doctors force air into Caitlyn’s lungs, as her heart monitor flatlines, as they shock her back to life.
Vi doesn’t go inside Caitlyn's room. Maddie does. The fiancée. The woman Caitlyn chose.
Vi should leave. She should let go. But some things never stop moving, even when they should. Even light, when it’s close enough to the edge, can’t escape.
