Summary
Vee’s not sure how long she’s been half-sprawled on the ground, resting back against the log as familiar rhythms make their way through her fingers. Probably a good twenty minutes, at least. The pleasant heat radiating from the fire lets her mind grow distant, and every minute that ticks by starts to blur.
Someone sitting down on the log is enough to snap her back to reality.
“Hi,” Sable Ward of all people says when Vee looks up, giving a quick, polite nod as she crosses one leg over the other.
