    Summary

Keith doesn't dislike his job, but he definitely dislikes Lance. Probably. Maybe.

"Coran thinks you'll bang at the Christmas party but I think that's giving you guys way too much credit," Pidge says thoughtfully. "Hunk is a romantic. He thinks Lance is gonna ask you out any day now. I think he's got a week or so before he owes me like a hundred bucks."

"Pidge, what the fuck?" Keith says, flustered. He nudges them again with his foot, this time slightly harder. They scowl at him, swatting him away. "Why would you bet on me and Lance?"

    Summary

The movement was sudden. Dennis flinched violently before he could stop himself. His shoulders jerked backward hard enough that he nearly stumbled. One hand came up instinctively between them, his entire body recoiling like it had been wired for it.

He saw the exact moment that realization hit Robby, the frustration vanishing from his face so quickly it was almost frightening. His hand dropped immediately to his side. Dennis made the mistake of looking directly into his eyes again. Pure, naked heartbreak spread slowly across Robby’s face like Dennis had physically struck him instead.

Or, Dennis’s past comes back to haunt him and Robby is there to help him through it.

    Summary

Dennis washed up and headed toward the room, pulling up the chart one more time on his tablet as he walked. Stable. No new changes since he last checked. Just waiting. Still not looking hopeful. He knocked lightly before entering. He stepped inside and pulled the curtain partially closed behind him, giving the family privacy. The overhead lights were dimmer now. The steady hum of the ventilator filled the quiet.
He turned and froze, a stuttered breath leaving his mouth as he choked on his greeting.
    A gun.

Or, Post-Sabbatical, Dennis is held hostage by a patient’s grieving family member.

    Summary

The conference itself would’ve been bad enough on its own. Three days in Virginia Beach with physicians from across the East Coast attending lectures and networking events and social hours that nobody actually wanted to participate in. But no, PTMC had also agreed to some commemorative panel recognizing the one-year anniversary of Pittfest.

Meaning Robby somehow ended up scheduled the next day to accept a departmental honor recognizing “exceptional leadership and emergency response coordination during mass casualty management.” There would apparently also be a plaque. A shiny new plaque to hang in the ED. Because nothing helped process collective trauma like polished wood and engraved brass.

Or, Robby is selected to sit on a conference panel commemorating Pittfest and accept an award on behalf of PTMC. (Inspired by the photo of Noah Wyle looking *lovingly* at a picture of Gerran/Dennis)

    Summary

Dennis takes a deep breath in to calm himself, but as he breathes out, he confesses, “Trinity made a bet with Samira that I could get anyone in the bar to buy me a drink because I kind of have a knack for it, but Samira chose you, and now they’re watching us, and I’m so sorry.”

His boss blinks at him a couple of times, probably figuring out the least problematic way to fire him or berate him for being so damn unprofessional. He should’ve just said no to Trinity and Samira and killed the vibes for the night; he’d prefer that to whatever Robby is about to say. He can already see the anger bubbling up inside him that’s going to—

    “I’ll buy you a drink.”

Dennis stares at him, unblinking. After a few seconds, he manages to ask, “What?”

“I’ll buy you a drink,” Robby repeats, then leans over to pat the bar stool next to him. “But you’re going to have to earn it.”

    -:-:-:-:-:-

Or, Dennis tries every trick in the book to get Dr. Robby to buy him a drink and to stay.
