Plus, it wasn’t like he had had the best examples to learn from. Between his mother abandoning him, to his sorry excuse for a dad, Billy was happy to never pass along his whack genes. Sure his mother had fed him some bullshit line about “all the love” he had to share, but Billy knew the truth. Most of what he had to share was anger, and darkness and rage.

“Adam, listen-” Lawrence flushed a little bit. “I need to tell you something.”
There was a beat of silence, and then he said it. “I love you.”
Adam’s heart stopped and restarted, and it was all he could do not to shrink back away from the words. It wasn’t that- well, it wasn’t as if Adam hadn’t known it. He had seen the way the man looked at him sometimes- it made his stomach bottom out, the way that the man regarded him. He knew that Lawrence had felt… strongly, about him, but there was a difference between knowing it and having the words out there between them, fizzling out in the silence.

Summary
Stiles thought he was ready for his first year of being a preschool teacher. For the tiny temper tantrums and never ending bouts of flu. The rowdy 4 year olds and overprotective parents. He prided himself at being adaptable. He was prepared! Or at least, he thought he was. He's a little less confident when his favorite three year old starts turning into a half wolf-baby just before nap time. And even less so when he finds out he's now the kid's anchor.
Not to mention Eli's insanely attractive father happens to be the sweetest, kindest and most anxious alpha-werewolf in the state of California.
