“What about you, then?” Harry asked, taking a sip of his ale. “You go to uni?”
Louis cleared his throat, clearly uncomfortable.
“Nah,” he said after Harry had already regretted asking. “I, um, I actually didn’t pass my A-levels,” he shared, voice quiet. “Well, I didn’t take my A-levels,” he corrected.
Harry frowned, taken aback.
“How come?”
“Circumstances,” Louis answered shortly, clearly having no interest in the conversation anymore.
Harry faltered.
“You know, you can always go back to—” he started, but Louis spoke over him.
“You know, I don’t see how it’s relevant to you fucking me later tonight.”
Harry blinked.
__AU where harry is 36 years old and has never been in love, louis is 20 and taking care of his six siblings and works at the restaurant. harry's new partner is being rude to their fit server, harry scolds him and leaves louis his phone number. louis doesn't call.

At first he found it cute, but after a while he begins to realize that the child’s pleas are lasting longer. The alpha assures him that there’s nothing to worry about, that it’s just a pup being a pup. But despite reassurances from the alpha, Louis is still worried about the pup.
