Summary
When Shiro spots 19-year-old Keith shivering in the rain, he can't help but take pity. When Keith invites himself to Shiro's penthouse, Shiro can't refuse. In fact, Shiro can't refuse Keith anything.
Except: Shiro won't let Keith pay him back with sex. And Keith, being the brat he is, tests the limits of Shiro's patience, determined to blue-ball Shiro until one of them gives in.
---
"Come on. I'm hungry. You could take me back to Maple and Terraceview and feed me something good." There's a clear double entendre in Keith's shark smile. And Shiro is so weak.
"How old are you?"
Because Shiro might be weak, but he's old enough to know much better than he's been acting. There are some lines you don't cross. Not when you're 35.
"19."
That's an awfully convenient age.
Shiro's thoughts must be broadcast across his face because a moment later Keith slips his wallet out of his back pocket. He leans across the table to hand his ID over, and smiles while Shiro looks it over and does the math.

Summary
If Shiro were to compare the universe and Keith, the boy would always win. There was no comparison. One was terrifying, sorrowfully beautiful, unexplored, and deadly.
The other was outer space.

Summary
The ritual was necessary. The ritual protected them. The ritual kept the beasts of the deep wood from destroying the village. The forest was a forbidden, evil place, where only the druids and elders were permitted to tread. Tradition upheld the old rites, which meant survival, meant safety, meant peace.
Keith doesn't believe in the old rites; after all, his father died in those woods, despite the so-called protection the ritual offered. The same woods his mother vanished into when he was but an infant. The same woods he hunts despite it breaking every law the village holds sacred.
He thinks the stories are just that, stories. Until he stumbles into the coils of a naga, and learns that everything the druids stood for was a lie.

Summary
Weeks into peacetime though Keith just still… hurts. It’s in his joints, in his back, and radiating up the spine to his neck. It’s a constant pain that sticks with him no matter how he rests.
Worst of all is his upper right arm, near the shoulder. It feels tender, but not to the touch. It’s something deeper, in his bones.
