You threw the pillow across the room, but you never heard it hit the floor. Instead, there was a soft *thud*… as if someone had caught it.
“My… lady?” You didn’t need to turn around to know it was Pierrot.
“Get out…” you said without even looking at him. Your voice was hoarse from screaming and crying.
“Y-you’re hurt! Let me help—” The moment his bells jingled, signaling he was approaching, you exploded again.
“GET OUT! I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE! I DON’T WANT TO SEE YOU OR ANYONE!” You spun around violently, glaring at him. “WHY DO YOU ALWAYS SHOW UP LIKE THIS? WHY WON’T YOU LEAVE ME ALONE?! WHY—” You stopped. Your ragged breathing burned in your chest, scorching your throat. Your lips trembled from holding back sobs. The knot in your throat felt like it was about to burst. The tears wouldn’t stop. You looked at him and suddenly felt even worse. His stunned expression, eyes wide as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing and hearing… holding the blood-stained pillow in one hand and a small bouquet in the other. You collapsed to the floor, falling to your knees.

When you realized his voice was only meant for you, when his sharp claws softened against your skin, tenderness overshadowed the danger of it. He somehow always knew what you needed before you did and brought it to you with a puppy-like tilt of his head, smiling with sharp teeth that had grazed your neck more than once, unable to resist himself. He liked to snuggle close, long limbs wrapping around you, muttering sweet nothings while his breath prickled the fine hairs along your skin.
