Coming from Grimmjow, it made Ichigo feel like a bug caught by a carnivorous plant, immobilized and waiting out the agonizing moments until he was digested. "There's the look I like on you: like you'll get back up and keep on swinging until you're in pieces. You keep looking at me like that, Kurosaki, and we won't have any problems."

Ichigo doesn't know anything about shinigami or hollows or wars between the two. All he knows is that there is one particular ghost with a hungry grin that he can't manage to shake. (Canon divergence where Ichigo does not get pulled into shinigami affairs, but does still get pulled into Grimmjow.)
