One unusual case that was unsuitable for publication took place in early September, 1895, some eighteen months after Holmes had returned from what I privately called his Unexpected World Tour: that of Isadora Persano, the well-known journalist and duellist, who was found stark staring mad with a match box in front of him which contained a remarkable worm said to be unknown to science. I took notes during the course of events and will now attempt to realign it into a narrative, but I am certain that this particular puzzle will have to go into the box at Cox & Co. and may not be retrieved until very long hence. The story is simultaneously unsatisfactory and unsuitable, though it demonstrates the quickness of Holmes's deductive talents, but as it resulted in a critical shift in the tone of Holmes's and my partnership I am nonetheless compelled to write it down.

Summary
It's the one-year anniversary of the day that Spamton left TV World behind, running away and never coming back.
Tenna has spent the entire day thinking about this, and retreats to a private room once he has finished working; a room which is strictly off-limits to everyone else. Inside, a phone has been left hanging off the hook. After a moment of contemplation, and in spite of the fact that he knows no-one will answer his call, he takes the receiver into his hand and dials the number of his ex-partner.
Meanwhile, in Cyber City, Spamton is sat inside a dumpster when his attention is drawn to an old rotary phone, which he wants to keep nearby. The phone is not connected, and Spamton knows that his immediate thought is illogical... but regardless, he still tries to call a certain CRT.
They both have a lot that they want to talk about, even if they know that their calls aren't connected. They have spent the last year trying to convince themselves that they hate each other; but, deep down, perhaps they still do care...
