Summary
Legolas had years to love Emma.
He knew her first as a little girl in Rivendell, carrying the last traces of a life fire had taken from her. He watched her become a woman, and watched her bring into his long, careful life a kind of human urgency he never knew how to answer.
And when that love was no longer something he could mistake for tenderness, he feared the shape of it:
