Summer is almost over, and Belly has been alone at the beach house for most of it while Jeremiah completes his internship at his dad's company. When he can finally sneak away to see her for a weekend, he decides to throw an end of summer bash for his fraternity brothers at the beach house. Ilya breathes in and out. He tries to be rational. Shane’s requesting that something change in their arrangement. It should be a simple answer. Yes. Of course. If that’s a boundary he wants to set, then Ilya should obey it.
But the feeling of loss is so overwhelming he can barely stomach it.
or, after Vegas, Shane doesn't let Ilya kiss him anymore when they hook up. Ilya doesn't take it very well.

It feels like a dam has broken inside of him.
All he wants is pizza. A donut. A milkshake.
If he can’t have Ilya - if Ilya doesn’t want him - maybe he can have pizza instead.
It’s a stupid thought. A dangerous thought. But it won’t leave.
Or, Shane doesn’t get injured in the game and Ilya breaks it off between them. Shane’s eating disorder spirals out of control as a result.

Ilya loved Shane. Ilya was obsessed with Shane. Ilya would do everything for Shane. Almost everything. Because Shane could be stubborn and Ilya made it his task to remind him of that by making empty (playful) threats towards him. Empty, because Ilya's weakness was called Shane Hollander. And it didn't matter how strong he tried to be, Shane made it impossible for him to go through with anything. So yes, Ilya would do everything for Shane.
Or
5 times Ilya threatened Shane to not do something for him and then he does it anyway, because Ilya was weak for his husband + 1 time Ilya actually made a promise to Shane he will hold for the rest of his life.
