“Are you okay?”
In lieu of convincing his vocal cords to do literally anything useful, Jisung nodded. The motion came out a little too enthusiastic, making him briefly dizzy. He reinforced it with a thumbs up, because apparently his body had decided that was the most reassuring option available.
What the hell are you doing?
Why aren’t you speaking?
“You didn’t hit your head or something, did you?”
Jisung shook his head immediately.
There was a beat of silence, then the stranger’s eyes widened, horror dawning fast.
“Oh, shit. Are you… Can you not speak?”
Before Jisung could get his two functioning brain cells to kick into gear, he was shaking his head again.
And there it was. The worst lie he’d ever told, without even opening his mouth to speak it.

Summary
Han Jisung loves his life. As a member of a successful idol group, he lives with his best friend Lee Minho in their own dorm, enjoying a quiet and happy existence. They cross every line that normally exists between platonic best friends, even calling each other soulmates. Although Minho is openly gay to the members, he cannot reveal this to the world due to their idol lifestyle. Despite their closeness, Han never questions their relationship and insists he is straight, even as fans speculate they are secretly dating. Han feels secure in his role in Minho’s life, until one day he discovers that Minho has met another idol and is considering a relationship with him.

minho tries (and repeatedly fails) to flirt with jisung using the same pickup line, only to be thwarted by increasingly absurd items in jisung's pockets.

“You’d have a place to stay for free, as long as you want,” Jisung interjects quickly. “Free food, anything you need. I’ll set you up with Hyunjin. My parents—did you see how happy they were for me? My mom already loves you! If we just… just go along with it, a-at least until Christmas, everyone’s happy, right?”
(in which lonely novelist Minho falls for Jisung through a dating app and flies across the country to surprise him for the holidays—only to find out Jisung looks nothing like his photos. Minho lets himself become trapped in a web of lies, somehow growing dangerously fond of his catfisher-slash-fake-boyfriend along the way.)
