    It crossed his mind that he didn’t care if Hardwick crushed him, as long has he left Hotch alone. He himself was a lost cause, had been from age six or so, but Hotch wasn’t beyond saving.

     

    When interviewing a convict, Hotch starts escalating a tense situation and both him and Reid bear the consequences of being locked in with a serial killer for 13 minutes. Only this time, Reid isn't quick enough to start talking in time and Hardwick becomes violent.
