Summary
Souls weren't meant to be left alone, so they split, always looking for their other half.
No matter how long it took, the moment a soul existed, it sought the one that would complete it.
The main indication is, when one of the halves of the soul turns seven years old, an identical mark appears on both parts.
Along with that comes a set of unique abilities that soulmates can only use with each other—for protection, for finding each other.
Soulmates would never be alone.“Hello?” he called softly, trying not to sound scary. The other child turned to him with teary eyes. It was a boy, tears streaming down his swollen, red cheeks. His eyes were so blue Andrew had to wonder if that shade of blue really existed. The boy sniffed a little before answering.
“Hi?” He wiped his eyes with his sleeve, Andrew stared at him for a while. He was dreaming, right? He had gone to bed, he was sure he had. The other boy was also staring at him, the tears slowly stopping. He tilted his head, sniffled, and spoke again. “Who are you?”
“Andrew.” He frowned. “You?”
“Nathaniel.” -

Summary
All he could think about, all he could see were those blue eyes — so so familiar, so painfully real and not a hallucination, Andrew wasn't dreaming this time — but no recognition, not even that mischievous glare when Neil decided to make it his life's goal to annoy him.
He doesn't know who I am
Andrew knew a lie when he saw one and especially when it was Neil lying. And he wasn't, it was the truth.
Neil didn't remember who Andrew was.Series

Summary
Andrew could practically see the image of Neil sleeping on his chest, one of the pairs of shoes he'd bought still lying there in bed with them. Neil looked so peaceful, Andrew couldn't stop looking at him. His hand was right on Neil's belly, he could almost imagine what the girls' heartbeats were like there.
Neil had sung a song that night, and Andrew memorized every note because, someday, he would also sing that same song for Neil and his daughters.
be more wanted, they've probably never wanted anything more in their life.
“You won't touch any of them again.” Andrew said. His voice was low and his throat hurt. “You're not getting anywhere near my fucking family.”Series

Summary
Eddie has a bruised leg, Buck has no respect for Eddie's self-sacrificial nonsense, and the building has maybe thirty seconds left before it becomes everybody's problem.
"You can move faster without me, Go. Bring someone back. I can wait!"
Buck stares at him through the smoke-dark visor.
"Not happening."or
Eddie discovers Buck can apparently carry him in full turnout gear like he weighs nothing, and is absolutely not normal about that.

Summary
Someone exclaims in the background, but Buck’s voice cuts through louder when he asks, “You… you want to borrow my…?”
“Flashlight,” Eddie supplies with patient emphasis. It is not, strictly speaking, a leap of faith to assume Buck of all people would have one, but he did move recently, so— who knows what’s still lost in Packed Box Limbo. “Please tell me you have one I can use.”
“I…” there’s a lengthy pause on the other end, Buck’s voice weak and tapering off at the end. “Y-Yeah, okay.”
Or: Eddie just needs to borrow some tools. Fleshlight, flashlight, what’s the difference? The distinction has never been more illuminating.

Summary
The phone lights up on the coffee table. It's a number he half-recognizes — a few weeks back a package for his apartment went to 4D by mistake, and he texted the guy to sort it out, and the guy wrote back a paragraph and a half about how the mail situation in this building was, his words, "a war crime." Eddie didn't save the number. He meant to. It just lives in his phone now as a stranger, and the stranger is texting him.
Unknown: hey. HEY. ok this is the package guy from 4D. ur 4B. i need to ask u somethign and its important
Unknown: u have the good dog right
Eddie: Who is this?
Unknown: i JUST said. package guy. 4D. anyway i hear his little feet in the hallway sometiems. tap tap tap. like a tiny gentleman. and i need to know hes real
Eddie knows who this is. Big guy, loud, holds the elevator and then narrates the entire ride down.
Eddie: Are you drunk?
Unknown: thats a seperate issue from the dog
Which is not a no.
Eddie: [image]
Unknown: OH MY GOD
Or,
Eddie gets a series of drunk texts from his hot neighbor.Bookmarked by DarkD

Summary
“It’s too much,” Buck whispers, his body tensed like it’s ready to snap. “Losing Bobby. Losing you. Feels like… like everything is falling apart. I don’t… I can’t do it.”
“I get it,” Eddie says. He tightens his hold on Buck, thumb searching until it finds the pulse thrumming in his neck. Buck’s heart is still beating. He hasn’t lost him, not yet, and he can fix whatever’s broken between them—will fix it, no matter the cost. “But what does that have to do with Tommy?”
Buck’s jaw shifts, his hands clenching and unclenching at his sides. “It’s the only time the thoughts stop. When he… when he…” he stiffens, trying to pull away, but Eddie can’t have that. With his free hand, he snags a handful of Buck’s shirt.
“Say it,” Eddie whispers, jealousy and misery and desperation all curling together in his gut.
It doesn’t matter that he has no right to claim Buck as his. It doesn’t matter that following his impulses never leads to anything good. All that matters is that Buck is here with him right now, and Eddie isn’t going to let him go.In an alternate universe, Buck goes back to Tommy after losing Bobby. Eddie finds out and they fight while trying to process their grief.
